7 Jun, 11

Ruskin Tutor, Louise Livesey, has been named as the joint winner of Oxford University Women's Campaign's first Woman of the Year Award. The award was in recognition of her professional and activist work including her commitment to the MA Women’s Studies programme at Ruskin and the links it has made with its sister MSt programme at University of Oxford and with local woman's and feminist organisations including OSARCC, Oxford Feminist Network and the Oxford International Women's Festival. Louise is Programme Convenor for Women’s Studies, tutor in Sociology and Academic Co-ordinator for Humanities, Social Sciences and Lifelong Learning and spearheaded last years’ successful WLM@40 conference and this year’s performances of the Vagina Monologues which raised over £500 for Oxford Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre.
